My career with the Tribe started in 1999 after I graduated from
Aquinas College in Grand Rapids with a bachelor’s degree in
Environmental Studies and Geography. 4 years of studies, a distance
learning trip to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana and a
summer in Arizona working for the U.S. Forest Service shaped my
perception of the environment and gave me a real sense of
appreciation. As Executive Planner for the Tribe I provide grant
writing support to all departments as well as developing long-term
planning guidance in a variety of areas from Housing, Environment,
Health, Transportation, and Land Use. I have two daughters (5 and 8
years old), and have been happily married to my wife for 9 years.
Baseball is my sport of choice and camping on the weekends with
friends and family is my top pick for relaxation.

Aanii, my name is Kathy Mackety,
I have worked for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi since 8-2003. In 2003, I graduated from Kellogg Community College with an Associates in Applied Science—Computer Information Technology. In 2007, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors of Science—Business Management. Now, I am considering an MBA in Communications.
My career with the Tribe began in the Environmental Department as the Indoor Air Quality Specialist, later becoming certified by the American Indoor Air Quality Council as the Tribe’s Certified Indoor Environmentalist. In 2006, my career path switched gears a little and this lead me to the Communications Officer position which I enjoy very much. There are many aspects to the Communications Officer position but the main function of my job is The 'Mskike Mzenegen' (a.k.a. The Turtle Press). As the Turtle Press Newsletter Editor for the Tribe, I have been able to witness history in the making on several different occasions—many very joyous occasions, and others that were not so happy. Having lived on the Pine Creek Indian Reservation for a little over a decade, I have seen many transformations here as well—all of which has been beneficial to the Tribal Membership. I count my blessings every day and I have much to be thankful for. I am so blessed to have a career that I love, the people I work with and for “the Tribe” are great people, and I am very blessed for the community in which I live. I am the very proud mother and step-mother to two Tribal Members, in addition to two more children; all of whom have only known their home to be on the Reservation. I couldn't imagine raising them anywhere else.

My name is Randi McKinney.
I recently started as the new Exective Assistant in the Southern Administration Office. Prior to my position at the reservation, I worked as a Medical Receptionist at a family doctors office and for a cardiology group in Kalamazoo. I’m currently taking classes at KVCC (credits to later be transferred to Western Michigan University), and my major is in Accounting. I grew up in Kalamazoo; however, I have lived in Plainwell for the past 21 years. I have three amazing children; one daughter and two sons. I have been an enrolled Tribal Member since I was fairly young. My Great-Grandmother, Elizabeth Sprague, lived on the reservation for many, many years. I am looking forward to meeting all the Tribal Members and their families.
My name is Jessi McKinney,
I was recently hired as the Administration Office Receptionist. I live with my fiancé, Matt, and my puppy, Kaiya, in Kalamazoo where I was raised. In 2003, I graduated from Parchment High School, where I was involved in Student Council, Yearbook, Softball and many other activities. After graduation, I attended Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University. This is where I completed courses toward a degree in Engineering and Biomedical Science, while completing a minor is Holistic Health. After taking a couple years off, I am looking forward to completing my degree in the very near future. I am an enrolled NHBP Tribal Member and am really excited about working here. I look forward to meeting and getting to know the Tribal Members as well as other employees.
